Municipal Biosolids Management & Class B Land Application

Municipal utilities need a biosolids partner that understands both the field work and the paperwork. Bioterra provides municipal biosolids management, including sludge extraction, transport and Class B biosolids agricultural land application, with compliance management built in.
Municipal services
- Lagoon and basin sludge extraction for city and district wastewater treatment facilities
- Biosolids hauling with our own permitted fleet
- Class B biosolids agricultural land application on dryland wheat ground
- State and federal compliance management for biosolids handling and use, including EPA 40 CFR Part 503 and state rules such as WAC 173-308 in Washington
- Responses to municipal RFPs and formal bid packages
Working with state and federal regulations
Biosolids are regulated by the EPA under 40 CFR Part 503 and by state programs. In Washington, for example, the Department of Ecology administers WAC 173-308. Bioterra plans each project around the requirements of the state where the work takes place, so utilities have clear documentation of where material goes and how it is used.
